Scented Geranium – Apple

Pelargonium odoratissimum ‘Apple’
Scented Geranium
Zone: 9b – 11
Height: 8-12″
Description: The Apple Scented Geranium has light green rounded leaves. In bloom it produces clusters of small white hermaphroditic flowers. This scented geranium likes the sun and well drained soil.

Apple Scented Geranium was a favorite in the Victorian garden. Scented Geraniums are not prolific bloomers but they do make a nice addition to your garden for their interestingly shaped and scented foliage. The Apple geranium does, however, have culinary uses. The crushed leaves can be used to flavor salads, fruit dishes, jellies, cakes and ice creams.

Remember, Scented geranium (Pelargonium) varieties are grown for either their distinct foliage or scents. They are not profuse bloomers and don’t have the flower clusters of their relative, the Geranium. They are also tender perennials. As long as you bring them inside during the cold months, they’ll live year round.
